Design Thinking

Our client is a start-up company in the frontier technology industry. Due to the low adoption rate and slow development of Artificial Intelligence in Australia, we had little knowledge of this industry.

To resolve our questions about our client’s operations and business, we implemented 3 discovery steps.

The first step is to question. By asking our client ‘Why?’, ‘Why not?’ and ‘What if?’, we understood our client’s situation and found the underlying problems.

The second step is to network. When I had trouble understanding some technical terms even after I did research, I approached an alumnus who is an expert in this field and asked him about these complex concepts. I extended my knowledge in the AI industry by understanding his ideas and perspectives.

The last step is to associate. In this step, I used the SID tools to help me connect each dot and reveal the links between seemingly unrelated problems and existing knowledge and skills. I reassembled my previous knowledge and combined it with my new inputs from the first two steps and research to create my innovative solutions.

Our first draft received excellent client feedback, and he showed interest in our findings.
